DAY 01: CHAING RAI-CHIANGKHONG–HOUESAY - PAKBENG ( L/D)
Early morning pick up at Chiang rai then drive 2 hrs to Chiangkhong then take a boat cross the Mekong to Houysai ( Laos – Thailand border ) arrive in Houeisay before 09.00 AM . The LuangSay boat departs from Houeisay pier at 09:00 hrs for a cruise down the Mekong River to Pak Beng. One stop is made to visit and admire the authentic rural life of hill tribe settlements. A delicious Buffet lunch is served on board. The boat will arrive at LuangSay Lodge before sunset for overnight stop. Dinner is served at terrace overlooking the Mekong River.
DAY 02 : PAKBENG – LUANGPRABANG ( B/L/D)
Breakfast served at terrace around 7:30 a.m. In the morning visit the morning market (Optional) of Pak Beng where the nearby villagers and hill tribes buy and exchange their goods. Boat departs at 08:30 a.m. for her second part of trip, making another stop at tribal village. Lunch is again served on board; boat makes another stop at Ban Baw to observe the processing traditional rice alcohol. Upon arrival at Pak Ou village at the mouth of Nam Ou River, boat stops for a trip Tam Ting ‘Caves of thousand Buddha’s, reaching Luang Prabang (UNESCO world heritage city) before sunset. Then transfer to town and overnight in Luangprabang.
DAY 03 : LUANGPRABANG ( B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Full day visit of the old city. Start your visit with Vat Vixoune influenced by Thai- Lu architecture and That Makmo, the watermelon shape stupa. Proceed to Vat Mai with its five tiered roof and exquisite carved veranda Take a walk in the old city and visit Vat Sene, the perfect place to pray or meditate. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon continue your visit with Vat Xieng Thong the most beautiful temple of Luang Prabang dating back from 16th century. The roofs sweep low to the ground and glass colored panels adorn the walls of the chapels. Climb up to Phousi hill with its outstanding view over the city, its surroundings and the Mekong river. Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at hotel.
DAY 04 : LUANGPRABANG – KUANGSI ( B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hotel.. Excursion by car to Kuangsi waterfall (30 kms). On the way, visit Hmong village at Ban Na Ouane and Khmou village at Ban Tha pen. Enjoy the beautiful scenery, swimming or relaxing nearby the clear pools of the tiered limestone formations. Picnic lunch nearby waterfall. Back to Luang Prabang in afternoon and time at leisure in the old city. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
DAY 05 : LUANGPRABANG – VIENTIANE ( B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel . Visit the national museum, the former royal palace. Transfer to the airport and departure to Vientiane. Arrive in Vientiane, transfer to your hotel and check in. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon visit of Vientiane: Vat Sisaket, the oldest and most beautiful temple of Vientiane, Ho Prakeo, the royal temple turned museum. Proceed to That Luang Stupa, the most revered shrine in Laos and stop at Patouxay (the Arc of Triumph). Stop at Talat Sao (the big central market) if time permits. Take a short walk along the Mekong at sunset. Dinner at local restaurant with traditional music and dances
DAY 06 : VIENTIANE – BUDDHA PARK ( B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel , then start your visit with Nongbuathong hand weaving village . Lunch at local restaurant . Afternoon excursion by car to the Buddha Park. Built by a monk in 1950, this strange place where hundred of Buddha statues was meant to be a religious place, nowadays it is actually a park where local people come to relax. Drive back to Vientiane and transfer to hotel. Dinner and accommodation at hotel
DAY 07 : VIENTIANE- PAKSE - WAT PHOU - KHONG ISLAND ( B/L/D)
Early morning , after breakfast transfer to airport for your flight to Pakse . Upon arrival at Pakse airport meet and continuing transfer directly to Champassak. Continue then by car to Wat Phou , another World Heritage Site in Laos recognized by UNESCO in 2002, this ruin temple was built before Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, which is one of the most ancient Khmer temple architecture dating from the 8-11th century. In the afternoon drive to Khong Island and stop en route to visit the ruins of the Khmer temple of Oup Mong at Ban Houei Tomo . Arrive at Ban Hatsai Khoune before sunset and board a traditional long tail boat to reach Khong Island . Overnight in Khong Island.
DAY 08 : KHONG ISLAND - SURROUNDING ( B/L/D)
Breakfast, today, we enjoy a cruise venturing into the widest reach of the Mekong River from where thousands of islets just out in dry season, giving this area a lovely name” Si Phan Done A long the way, we stop at the Liphi waterfalls and the fisherman village of Ban Done Khone. On return, we take a short drive to the Lao – Cambodia border at Weukham and the sight of Khone Phapheng, which boats South East Asia’s biggest water falls, if there is luck, we may be seen Mekong dolphin. Overnight in Khong Island.
DAY 09 : KHONG ISLAND - TAD LO ( B/L/D)
Breakfast; upon leaving Khong 4000 islands, we continue our journey towards Tadlo, through Boloven plateau where famous tea and coffee plantation and other lush vegetation and red surface of basaltic soil are incredible all along the way. En route, there are some opportunities to explore a part of Boloven plateau and visit some hill villages of the Katu, Alak and Nge ethnic minority people, overnight in Tadlo Resort
DAY 10 : TADLO - PAKSE ( B/L/D)
After breakfast at resort we transfer back to Pakse town on the way visit Waterfalls of Tad yerng and Tad Fan waterfall , Very nice view to relax near the waterfall , back to pakse in evening time . Arrive in Pakse and free at leisure , you can walk in night time to test delicious Lao food and Laos beer !. Overnight in Pakse
DAY 11 : PAKSE – DEPARTURE ( B)
After breakfast , free time or you need to shopping at local market to see local lao food and handicraft , then transfer to airport for departure flight .
